You are invited to enjoy a unique experience and gain exclusive insight into the fascinating history of William Shakespeare and Coombe Abbey Hotel with this very special package.
Take a guided tour of Mary Arden's home and experience a working farm in Shakespeare's time. Then visit the Shakespeare Centre in Stratford for Afternoon Tea and a 'behind the scenes' tour of Shakespeare 'treasures' not normally available to the general public.
Visit Shakespeare's birthplace and take an exclusive candle-lit guided tour of his home then dine in the elegance of Coombe Abbey Hotel. Your guide will join your group for dinner and give you remarkable insight into the history of Coombe Abbey and it's links with the Gun Powder Plot. Finally, retire to your bedchamber and enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast the following day.
Package includes tour transfers, guided tour of Shakespeare's Houses, lunch, afternoon tea, three-course dinner and one night stay in a Crown bedchamber (including breakfast) at Coombe Abbey Hotel. | 10:30 - 12:00: | Talk on the life, times and works of William Shakespeare by a member of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust at Coombe Abbey Hotel. |
| 12:00 - 13:30: | Lunch |
| 13:30 - 14:15 | Group departs Coombe Abbey Hotel by Hotel minibus. |
| 14:15 | Arrive at Mary Arden's House, Wilmcote. |
| 14:30 - 16:00: | Take a guided tour of Palmer's Farm. Experience the daily routine of a busy farming household in Shakespeare's time) and Mary Arden's House (childhood home to Shakespeare's mother) |
| 16:00: | Group departs for Stratford. |
| 16:15: | Arrive at The Shakespeare Centre, Stratford upon Avon. Enjoy Afternoon tea. Your Guide will be available to answer questions. |
| 17:00 - 18:00: | Take a private tour of some of the hidden 'treasures' from the collections of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. |
| 18:00 - 18:45: | Take a private candle-lit tour of Shakespeare's Birthplace. |
| 18:45- 19:15: | Farewell drinks served in the gardens of Shakespeare's Birthplace (weather permitting). |
| 19:15: | Group departs for hotel accompanied by a speaker from the Records department. |
| After Dinner: | An informal talk on the Gun Powder Plot and the connection with Coombe Abbey. |
